Dear fellow worker,
With our new Collective Bargaining Agreement, we won raises or bonuses for all workers, including those who worked in eligible hourly positions, as non-STEM research assistants, and in teaching positions during the academic year 2020-2021.
Depending on your position, you may be eligible to receive retroactive pay. Hourly workers and non-STEM Research Assistants (RAs)NYU Human Resources (HR) has communicated with GSOC that hourly workers and non-STEM RAs will receive retroactive wages for work completed during Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 today, Monday August 30, 2021. If you already receive pay through direct deposit, you should see another direct deposit to your account sometime by the end of the day, today.
Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Adjunct Instructors (AIs)
For Teaching Assistants and Adjunct Instructors, NYU has not yet specified a date by which service bonuses for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 will be disbursed.
Summer 2021 Retroactive Pay
NYU HR has also not notified us on when Summer 2021 retroactive pay and service bonuses (for all workers) will be disbursed. Look for communication from us regarding this in the next few weeks.GSOC organizers have created a Retroactive Pay Calculator, which you can use to calculate how much back wages you can expect.
Please download a copy of this spreadsheet to your personal drive before putting in calculations, so that all workers can download an unedited, clean copy of the worksheet.
Note: this calculator is a work-in-progress, and will be updated to reflect ways to compute expected bonuses to TAs and Adjunct Instructors, as well as Summer 2021 retroactive pay for all workers. The final version will be complete by September 1st, 2021.
