As you may be aware, we won new benefits for working families in our contract fight last Spring, including access to elder and child care services offered by Bright Horizons. NYU’s Bright Horizons client page is now live. This has resources such as childcare assistance, free sittercity accounts, children’s coding classes, and more.
The union administers a childcare fund that increases annually, from $100,000 in 2020 to $325,000 by 2026. This operates in addition to the $300 childcare stipend from NYU. The fund is distributed annually (per the calendar year) to support parents and guardians of dependents under the age of 6. Applications are due by January 31st.
Our workers are eligible to apply to the dependent healthcare premium reimbursement fund. This reimbursement may be up to 90% of the cost of their dependent’s healthcare premium depending on fund applications. Applications for reimbursement of Spring 2022 premiums are due by August 21st.
