BIG NEWS from GSOC/UAW

The moment we have been waiting for has arrived!

A few weeks ago, President Obama made a set of recess appointments that included two new members to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Now that the NLRB is constituted, we are preparing to move forward and regain collective bargaining rights for graduate employees at NYU and all private universities across the United States.

Collective bargaining provides us with a voice to determine and guarantee our pay, health care, vacation time, and other terms and conditions of our employment. Without a GSOC/UAW Local 2110 contract, the university administration can make unilateral changes to our working conditions at any time.

Many of you have shown your support and signed up to become members within the past year.  If you are currently employed and you think you may have signed up more than one year ago from today, please contact us (or expected to be contacted) so that we can renew your support before the end of the semester.

There will be more news in the near future. Stay tuned!
