Petition to NYU: Stop Stonewalling Negotiations!

(PETITION HAS ENDED BECAUSE WE WENT BEYOND OUR GOAL!)

In Fall 2020, we began the work of gathering signatures for this majority petition to urge NYU to stop stonewalling negotiations. As of now, we are still gathering signatures, so please sign it to show support to your fellow graduate workers!

To: Andrew Hamilton and NYU’s Bargaining Committee
Graduate student workers play a crucial role in making NYU function across its local and international campuses. A living wage, 100% coverage of our healthcare costs, adequate support for parent workers, and coverage of at-home technology costs are vital to our work as instructors, course assistants, and hourly and administrative workers. It is also imperative for NYU to provide material support to international and immigrant students, and the university must cut ties with the NYPD, whose violence poses a threat to the safety and wellbeing of Black and formerly incarcerated workers especially. We are united in our demand that NYU’s negotiating team agree to these demands and meet the urgent needs of graduate workers.
If NYU does not stop stalling our Bargaining Committee is ready to call a Strike Authorization Vote.

Note: This petition is *only* for NYU graduate students. The signatures will only become public if 70% of graduate students currently working in a union position sign on.
