Exciting News from the National Labor Relations Board
We have encouraging news! The National Labor Relations Board announced that it will review our petition to reassert our right to choose collective bargaining. This is great news because it moves us one step closer to getting our union certified. With this latest movement by the board, we could have an opportunity to vote yes for our union before the end of this fall semester.
Since 2005, NYU has refused to recognize our union. Despite this, GSOC-UAW has continued to organize and demonstrate our majority, and we are pleased that the labor board has granted review on our petition- which could also re-establish the right for graduate employees at other private universities all over the country to choose collective bargaining.
There are a lot of exciting things to do this summer and fall! If you are interested in getting involved respond to this email or call us at 212-529-2580.
