BargainingGSOC-UAW

November 21st Rally Update

On Friday we had an energetic rally to show the university that we will not back down. We were heartened by the strong showing of our members and allies. There were over 150 people in attendance! Graduate students spoke to the importance of fighting for higher wages, affordable and expanded healthcare for us and our families, tuition remission and improved childcare subsidies. Undergraduates spoke to the important role that graduate teaching assistants play in their education. Faculty expressed their strong support for our graduate student struggle, as connected to a range of struggles for workers across NYU.

We were joined by various campus and city groups and unions who support GSOC-UAW including: Student Labor Action Movement, NYU Divest, Students for Justice in Palestine, Law Students for Economic Justice, Faculty Against the Sexton Plan, Union of Clerical, Administrative, and Technical Staff at NYU, Office and Professional Employees International Union, and the Central Labor Council.

Thanks to all of you who came out!
